WESTBOROUGH — The town may be getting some assistance from the state for its 300th anniversary celebration next year. State Sen. Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) issued a press release announced that $50,000 in the fiscal 2017 budget has been earmarked for the 300th Anniversary of the incorporation of the town of Westborough.
“Massachusetts is home to some of the oldest cities and towns in America,” said Senator Jamie Eldridge. “Honoring the 300th Anniversary of Westborough through a celebration for all members of the town to enjoy is important to keeping the character of Massachusetts alive today.”
While the funds are currently in the Senate budget, they are not guaranteed until the fiscal 2017 budget is finalized and signed by Gov. Charlie Baker.
The Senate and House budget is currently on its way to Conference Committee to resolve the differences between both versions.
