Funding would provide for upgrades to the chlorination and dechlorination systems
BOSTON—Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) fought to pass $125,000 in the budget for fiscal year 2017 for improvements to the chlorination and dechlorination systems at the Maynard Wastewater Treatment Plant.
“This important funding will help the Maynard Wastewater Treatment Plant comply with its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit,” said Senator Eldridge. “Upgrading the chlorination systems will help ensure that contaminants are successfully removed to better protect our environment.”
The Senate and House budget now goes to Conference Committee to resolve the differences between both versions.

Would you know if this passed through the Conference Committee and went on for final passage? I’m interested in whether or not the Town will be able to get this money in order to assist them with their environmental protection goals.
