Senator Eldridge Testifies Against Kinder Morgan’s Survey Request at Public Hearing

04/06/2016 by Team Eldridge Leave a Comment

Yesterday I attended the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) Hearing in Lunenberg to testify against Kinder Morgan’s survey request to DPU. Kinder Morgan is requesting access onto land where property-owners have already denied them permission. Not only is the Kinder Morgan pipeline proposal opposed by a growing number of residents in Massachusetts, including many of my constituents, recent studies suggest that we do not need new natural gas pipelines to meet our energy needs. I am proud to stand with the thousands of New England residents who do not think that ratepayers should foot the bill for an unnecessary project that would increase our dependence on fossil fuels while causing great harm to human life and the environment. You can read a copy of the letter here.
