Sen. Eldridge and Rep. Hogan announce $15,000 grant awarded to the Maynard Cultural District

MAYNARD – State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Marlborough) and State Representative Kate Hogan (D-Stow) are excited to announce that the Mass Cultural Council will be awarding the Maynard Cultural District a $15,000 investment grant.

The investment grant is coming from the Mass Cultural Council’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget. For nearly 15 years, the districts have worked to advance the Commonwealth through the arts, humanities, culture, and creativity. The districts have been critical to the Mass Cultural Council's mission to increase opportunities to celebrate traditions and advance the cultural sector.

The Maynard Cultural District’s diversity of its citizenry and plurality of traditions are exemplified by its street festivals, restaurants, and public art installations. This funding will be used to support community partnerships, cultural policy efforts, and the advancement of public art. Due to the diversity of each district, this funding is flexible in the manner in which it can be used.

“It is important to invest in initiatives that honor and preserve culture and community, because these are key aspects of a Maynard's beauty and charm,” said State Senator Jamie Eldridge. “Ensuring that tradition and culture is supported within Maynard is essential for community engagement and capacity-building. I am thankful for the work of the Mass Cultural Council and the Maynard Cultural District for their commitment to this cause.”

"Maynard's Cultural District funds numerous year-round celebrations — from music festivals to Shakespeare in the Park, Maynard Pride, bocce, Hometown Heroes, and more. There is something for everyone and our Cultural District works hard to ensure these events are sustainable year after year," said State Representative Kate Hogan. "Congratulations to the Maynard Cultural District for this FY26 Investment Grant. We are grateful to the Mass Cultural Council for administering these funds.

"The Maynard Cultural District is very grateful to the Massachusetts Cultural Council for their support of our district," said Jenna Dargie, the Maynard Cultural District chair. "We look forward to continuing our work providing free programming, establishing public art, and growing our community, none of which would be possible without this grant."
